Kevin Concepcion has a Career Night in NC State’s 2024 Season Opening Victory Over WCU

#24 NC State defeated Western Carolina 38-21 this evening to kickoff the 2024 season, and similar to last season, it was on the back of Sophomore Wide Receiver Kevin Concepcion.

Concepcion had a career night, with 9 receptions and 3 touchdown receptions, which were both career highs.

KC had 121 receiving yards, which is the 2nd most in his career. His career high was 131 yards against UNC last year.

With all of the other weapons that NC State has in the receiving room this year, I didn’t expect to necessarily see Concepcion targeted as much as he was. He was targeted 14 times, which is the 2nd highest total in his career. KC’s highest target total came against Marshall last year, when he was targeted 16 times.

Concepcion accounted for 35.9% of the targets this evening, and 38.1% of the receiving yards. All three of Grayson McCall’s touchdown passes went to KC.
