Will NC State Cover the Spread for the First Time in 2024?

NC State is currently a 7.5-point favorite against Northern Illinois today? Is it safe to bet on the Wolfpack against the spread today?

This is deja vu from of last year, when NC State started the season 0-4 against the spread.

The Wolfpack would go on to win 5 games straight against the spread to close the season in 2023.

The last time NC State lost 5 straight games against the spread in 1 season was in 2022.

Dating back to last years bowl game, the Wolfpack has lost 5 straight games against the spread.

I started trying to figure out the last time NC State lost 6 straight games against the spread. The database over at Oddshark runs out after 2020. I started trying to do a deep dive, I did confirm it didn’t happen in 2019, but it took way too long to figure that out.

Needless to say, I don’t know how long it’s been since the Wolfpack have lost 6 straight games against the spread.

If the Wolfpack loses against the spread tomorrow, I might just have to keep digging.

At the end of the day, the spread doesn’t matter (unless you bet on it). Winning the game straight up is what matters most, and that’s all NC State actually has to do today.

With that being said, until the Wolfpack proves otherwise, be wary of betting them against the spread.
