Former NC State All-American Shortstop Trea Turner was instrumental in leading the Philadelphia Phillies to a NL East Division title this season. The Phillies will play the winner of the Brewers and the Mets in the Wild Card round that starts today.

Turner was named to the All-Star team for the third time in his career this year. Injuries led Trea to miss time this season, playing in only 121 games, but that didn’t stop him from leading Philly with a .295 batting average. His OBP (.338), SLG (.469) and OPS (.807) were all up from last year.

Trea ranked 4th in the National League in batting average in 2024.

Despite missing action, Turner finished with 20+ Home Runs (21) for the third straight season.

Even though he missed 41 games, Turner still ranked 2nd on the Phillies in Runs, with 88.

Turner is the most prolific MLB batter to ever come out of NC State. He has played the most games (1,125) of any former Wolfpack baseball player ever, and ranks 1st in Runs, Hits, Doubles, Home Runs, RBI’s, Stolen Bases and Walks.

His 3 All-Star Game appearances are tied with Pitcher Dan Plesac for the most in NC State history.
