NC State has played 5 football games in 2024, which means it’s time to give a redshirt report.

The following True Freshmen burned their redshirt last week in the Wolfpack’s game against Northern Illinois, playing in their 5th game of the season.

Wide Receiver Terrell Anderson
Wide Receiver Keenan Jackson

True Freshman Quarterback CJ Bailey played in his 4th game last weekend, which means he will officially burn his redshirt in tomorrow’s game against Wake Forest.

True Freshman Wide Receiver Jonathan Paylor has only played in 2 games this season, which means he can still play in 2 more regular season games, and maintain his redshirt season.

Senior Safety Devan Boykin still hasn’t played in 2024, after tearing his ACL leading up to NC State’s Bowl Game last December. Wolfpack head coach Dave Doeren shared recently that he is hopeful that Boykin will be able to play in the final 4 regular season games. If things play out like that, Boykin, who hasn’t used his redshirt season yet, would be able to return in 2025 for a final year of eligibility.

Senior Nickel Ja’Had Carter has played in two games this season, but missed last game, and Doeren was unwilling to speak to his status heading into tomorrow’s game against Wake Forest. Carter has not used his redshirt season yet, so we will have to monitor this as the season progresses.
