NC State defeated Coppin St. 66-56 last evening in the annual Heritage Game in Reynolds Coliseum. The NET Rankings have been updated after yesterday’s results, and the Wolfpack fell 20 spots after the victory. The Bald Eagles remain the 2nd worst team in all of College Basketball according to the NET Rankings (363 out of 364).

We live in a day in age, where you can’t just win games. You have to win games in specific ways.

One of the factors in the NET Rankings their Adjusted Efficiency Rankings. The first factor in these ratings is their Efficiency Rating. Here’s the formula: Offensive Efficiency (Points/Possessions) – Defensive Efficiency (Opponent Points/Possessions). The other two factors assess the strength of the opponent and where the game is played.

All that to say, a win like last night’s is extremely costly in the NET Rankings.
