NC State’s Depth Chart vs. ECU in the Military Bowl

The NC State Football team has released a Depth Chart for their game against ECU in the Military Bowl, which is the first time they’ve done so since leading up to the Clemson game in Week 4. That means that the Wolfpack haven’t released a Depth Chart for the past 8 games. Prior to not releasing a Depth Chart for the game against NC State, the last time the Wolfpack didn’t release a Depth Chart was before the season opener against South Florida in 2021.

The Depth Chart is below, and an EXHAUSTIVE change between the last Depth Chart, and this one is underneath.

• Back in Week 4, Redshirt Freshman Darion Rivers was the 3rd string Left Tackle.
  • Now it is True Freshman Trenton Mitchell.
  • Rivers is no longer on the Depth Chart.
• Back in Week 4, Redshirt Sophomore Val Erickson was the 2nd string Right Guard. Now he is listed as the 2nd string Right Guard.
  • In Week 4, Redshirt Senior Dawson Jaramillo was the 2nd string Left Guard.
    • Now he’s the 2nd string Center.
  • In Week 4, Redshirt Sophomore Rylan Vann was the 2nd string Center.
    • He’s now 3rd string.
  • In Week 4, Redshirt Freshman Kamen Smith was the 3rd string Left Guard.
    • He’s no longer on the Depth Chart.
  • Redshirt Junior Matt McCabe is the 2nd string Right Guard.
    • In Week 4, he was the starting Tight End.
    • Junior Dante Daniels has moved into the starting role at Tight End, after McCabe moved back to the O-Line.
• In Week 4, Junior Dacari Collins was the starting X receiver, and Redshirt Freshman Noah Rogers was the starting Y receiver. That hasn’t changed.
  • In Week 4, Freshman Terrell Anderson was Collins’ backup, and Junior Wesley Grimes was Rogers’ backup.
    • Now Grimes is Collins’ backup, and Anderson is 3rd string behind him.
  • In Week 4, True Freshman Keenan Jackson was the 3rd string Z receiver, and now he’s 2nd string.
  • In Week 4, Redshirt Junior Jakolbe Baldwin was the 3rd string X receiver, but he has entered the Transfer Portal.
• Redshirt Senior Jordan Waters is still listed as the starting Running Back.
  • In Week 4 Sophomore Kendrick Raphael was listed as the backup, but now Redshirt Freshman Hollywood Smothers has jumped ahead of him.
• With Kevin Concepcion and Jalen Coit entering the Transfer Portal, NC State has 2 new players at the top of the Depth Chart at the Inside Wide Receiver.
  • Walk-On Redshirt Sophomore Ashton Locklear is listed as the starter, and True Freshman Jonathan Paylor is listed as the backup.
• The Depth Chart was released before Jakolbe Baldwin announced he was entering the Transfer Portal today, so we don’t know who will be backing up Junior Justin Joly at the FLEXY position in the bowl game.
• In Week 4, Redshirt Sophomore DJ Jackson and Senior Chazz Wallace were listed as Junior Brandon Cleveland’s backups at Nose Tackle.
  • Jackson has entered the Portal.
  • Wallace only played in 4 games this season, giving him the ability to redshirt this season. He could still play in the bowl game, an redshirt, but he’s not listed.
  • True Freshman Justin Terrell is the 2nd string Nose Tackle for the bowl game.
• Back in Week 4, Redshirt Senior Devon Betty was the starting SAM Linebacker. After Redshirt Junior MIKE Linebacker Caden Fordham got hurt, Betty moved over to SAM.
  • When Betty moved over to the middle, Redshirt Freshman Kamal Bonner moved into the starting spot at SAM.
  • True Freshman Cannon Lewis is listed as the 2nd string MIKE Linebacker, since Redshirt Junior Jayland Parker entered the Portal.
• Redshirt Sophomore Jackson Vick is a backup at Cornerback now, after Senior Corey Coley Jr. was lost to injury after 6 games.
• In Week 4, Redshirt Senior KJ Martin was the backup at Strong Safety. He hasn’t played since Week 8.
  • Redshirt Freshman Zack Myers is Bishop Fitzgerald’s backup now.
• With Kevin Concepcion and Jalen Coit entering the Transfer Portal, Senior Safety DK Kaufman and Redshirt Sophomore Jackson Vick are listed as the 1st and 2nd string Punt Returners.
