NC State improved to 7-3 last night, squeaking by Davidson (3-7)  59-57.

Both teams shot terribly. NC State shot 33.3% from the field, and Davidson shot 34.4%. The Wildcats made 7 more three-pointers.

The Wolfpack only had 2 assists on 21 made field goals.

Davidson was +1 in rebounding margin, and scored 5 more points off of turnovers.

This was a back-and-forth game, with each team leading for nearly half of the contest. The Wolfpack might have won the game, but the Wildcats held the lead for 5 more minutes.

NC State was simply the team that had the lead at the end.

The edge that NC State had last night was at the free throw line. They made 11 more free throws than Davidson, on 17 more attempts. That’s the difference in the ball game.

The Wolfpack’s Senior Guard duo still shined on a night of ugly basketball.

Saniya Rivers had a double-double, with 25 points (11-21 FG) and 11 rebounds. Aziaha James had 21 points (8-17 FG/3-7 3PT) and 8 boards.

Next up for the Wolfpack is a game at Louisville this Sunday at 1pm on ABC.
