NC State offered Bowling Green Redshirt Junior Offensive Tackle Transfer Alex Wollschlaeger (6’7″/305) yesterday.

I spoke with Wollschlaeger, and he said he hasn’t decided yet if he is going to take a visit to NC State.

Wollschlaeger has been a full-time starter the past two seasons, earning All-MAC honors each year. This year he earned 1st Team honors, and he earned 3rd Team honors in 2023.

His PFF grade this year was 76.6.

Since entering the Portal, he has picked up offers from NC State, Kentucky, Northwestern, FSU, Pitt, UVA, Georgia Tech, Iowa St., Nebraska, Arkansas, Wake Forest, Kansas St. and Virginia Tech.

247Sports currently have Wollschlaeger rated a 4-star prospect in the Transfer Portal, ranking him as the #33 overall player in the Portal, and the #2 Offensive Tackle.

Coming out of high school, he was a 2-star prospect in Bowling Green’s 2020 recruiting class out of Oswego, Illinois.

Wollschlaeger has 1 year of eligibility remaining.

NC State is looking to replace three of their starting Offensive Linemen in 2025, losing All-ACC Center Zeke Correll, former All-ACC Left Tackle Anthony Belton (2023) and All-ACC Honorable Mention Right Guard Tim McKay. Starting Left Guard Redshirt Junior Anthony Carter Jr. re-signed with Savage Wolves yesterday, and we are still waiting to see if Redshirt Sophomore Right Tackle Jacarrius Peak is returning.
