Junior Tight End Justin Joly just announced that he has re-signed with Savage Wolves, NC State’s Football NIL Branch (as a part of 1Pack), which means he will be returning in 2025. He has 1 year  of eligibility remaining.

Joly is NC State’s leading receiver this season, with 620 receiving yards. He has 40 receptions (2nd) and 3 touchdowns (2nd).

His PFF grade is 70.8. Joly leads the Wolfpack with 11 Contested Catches, and is tied for the most Missed Tackles, with 9.

Joly caught 75.5% of the passes thrown his way, which was a better percentage than Kevin Concepcion, Noah Rogers and Wesley Grimes. Considering that Joly has proven himself to be the most reliable weapon in CJ Bailey’s arsenal, I’d love to see him get even more targets next year.

Joly is having one of the best seasons ever by a Tight End in NC State history.

His 40 receptions are currently tied for the 5th most receptions in NC State history by a Tight End in a single season.

1. Jaylen Samuels, 2017 – 76
2. Jaylen Samuels, 2015 – 65
3. Jaylen Samuels, 2016 – 55
4. Anthony Hill, 2006 – 45
5. Justin Joly, 2024 – 40
5. George Bryan, 2009 – 40
5. Willie Wright, 2001 – 40
8. Marcus Stone, 2007 – 36
8. T.J. Williams, 2005 – 36
10. George Bryan, 2010 – 35

Joly’s 620 receiving yards are the 3rd most receiving yards in school history by a Tight End in a single season.

1. T.J. Williams, 2005 – 780
2. George Bryan, 2010 – 735
3. Justin Joly, 2024 – 620
4. Anthony Hill, 2006 – 619
5. Jaylen Samuels, 2017 – 597
5. Jaylen Samuels, 2015 – 597
7. Willie Wright, 2001 – 588
8. Jaylen Samuels, 2016 – 565
9. George Bryan, 2009 – 560
10. Mario Carter, 2012 – 524

NC State has re-signed their starting Quarterback, their starting Running Back, their two starting outside receivers, followed by 4 backup receivers. Now they have signed their starting Tight End. The Wolfpack has also re-signed the only two starting Offensive Linemen that could return.

In the day and age of the Transfer Portal, sometimes it’s not about who you get, but who you’re able to retain.

At this point, NC State has retained all of the most significant offensive players with years of eligibility remaining. The only other player of note that we are waiting to hear from is backup Sophomore Running Back Kendrick Raphael.

Last offseason, Joly transferred to NC State, after spending his first 2 seasons at UCONN. He was the #39 overall player in the Transfer Portal last year, and the #2 Tight End Prospect.

This season, Joly set career highs in receiving yards and touchdown receptions.

Joly is the 22nd player to re-sign with Savage Wolves.
