#21 NC State Defeats James Madison 61-47 in an Ugly Game

#21 NC State (9-3) defeated James Madison (8-4) 61-47 last night in an ugly game in Reynolds Coliseum. The win over the Dukes was a significant game in non-conference game, giving the Wolfpack a Quad 2 victory.

NC State’s defense continues to smother their opponents. The Wolfpack held James Madison to 27.3% shooting from the field, and 12.5% from three. NC State has held 3 of their last 4 opponents to under 30% shooting from the field.

For the 4th time in 12 games, Senior Guard Aziaha James led the Wolfpack in scoring, dropping 21 points (9-22 FG). She also had 6 rebounds and 5 assists (0 turnovers).

For the 1st time in 5 games, Senior Guard Madison Hayes scored 10+ points, scoring 11 points (4-12 FG). She also had 5 boards.

Sophomore Guard Zoe Brooks led the team with 6 assists, and also had 10 points (5-12 FG). She also had a team high 3 steals.

Freshman Forward Tilda Trygger led the Wolfpack with 7 rebounds.

The Wolfpack’s next game will be their 2nd ACC game of the season, hosting Clemson (7-4) on December 29th at 6pm on ACC Network.
