NC State 2025 Center Isaac Sowells Jr. (6’2″/292), who enrolled early and is already on campus, has soared in recent recruiting updates. Sowells Jr. was a consensus 3-Star prospect, but now 247Sports, ON3 and Rivals all rank him as a 4-Star prospect, with ESPN being the lone database giving him 3-Stars.

247Sports recently boosted him 500 spots in their rankings, slotting him right outside the Top-100 nationally, landing at #104. He instantly shot up the list to be the highest ranked player in the Wolfpack’s recruiting class. They rank Sowells Jr. as the #4 Interior Offensive Lineman nationally, and the #1 player in the state of Kentucky.

ON3 ranks him as the #280 overall player nationally, the #21 Interior Offensive Lineman and the #2 player in the state of Kentucky. Sowells Jr. is now the highest ranked player in the Wolfpack’s class according to their rankings.

Rivals ranks him as the #238 overall player nationally, the #3 Center and the #2 player in the state of Kentucky. Sowells Jr. is the 2nd highest ranked player in the Wolfpack’s class.

“Spike’s” performance at the Navy All-American Bowl probably was instrumental in shooting him up the rankings. ON3 ranked him as the #3 “Top Performer” participating in the All-American game.

Now the highest-ranked offensive lineman to commit to NC State since Robert Crisp in 2010—who was ranked 13th nationally by Rivals—Sowells Jr.’s commitment marks a significant coup for the Wolfpack.
