NC State Picked to Finish 7th in the 2025 ACC Preseason Poll
The 2025 ACC Preseason Baseball Poll was released today, with NC State picked to finish 7th.
Let’s examine how accurately the media has projected NC State’s performance over the past few years.
(Note: Previous preseason polls utilized a 2-division model.)
Last year, NC State was picked to finish third in the Atlantic Division in the preseason poll and ultimately secured third place overall. UNC, also predicted to finish third, clinched the #1 seed in the 2024 ACC Baseball Tournament. Meanwhile, Duke, entering as the #6 seed, defeated the #5 seed FSU to win the ACC Championship.
In 2023, NC State was forecast to finish third in the Atlantic Division but ended the season 9th in the ACC.
In 2022, the Wolfpack was projected to finish second in the Atlantic Division, yet concluded the regular season 10th in the ACC. As the #10 seed, they advanced to the ACC Championship Game, where they fell to the #8 seed UNC, 8-5.
