Aziaha James puts the Pack on her back, sets career high with 36 points to topple #10 Duke

Just this afternoon, Aziaha James learned that she was named to the ‘National Player of the Year’ watch list. Tonight, she looked like the best player in the nation, dropping a career high 36 points on 15-19 shooting and 2-5 from 3pt range.

NC State, who went down by double-digits in the second quarter, stormed back in the second half thanks to James, Rivers and Brooks and a surprise late surge from freshman Lorena Awou.

Duke outrebounded NC State, and hit 7 more 3s, but State’s shot 61% from the floor, which was the difference in the game.

But this night was all about Aziaha James. She was unconscious during the second half, scoring 27 of her 36 and shooting 11-13 from the floor.

Honestly, this was one of the most insane performances I’ve seen. James scored 27 points and just missed 2 shots the entire second half. She refused to lose this game and was literally everywhere on the court, making play after play.
