Today is National Signing Day for the 2025 Football Recruiting Class. Back on December 6th, NC State signed 17 players on the Early National Signing Day.

Former Elon Tight End Cody Hardy (6’5″/271) signed his National Letter of Intent to play football for NC State today. He announced he was transferring to run with the Wolfpack on December 20th.

ON3 and 247Sports ranked Hardy as a 3-Star prospect in the Transfer Portal this offseason.

Hardy took an Official Visit to NC State on December 18th, after taking one to Auburn the prior weekend. There were also reports that Hardy was going to visit Alabama, but he came to Raleigh instead.

Hardy started in all 10 of the games he played in this year for the Phoenix. Through his career, he’s been more of a blocking Tight End.

This season, he had 6 receptions for 36 yards and a touchdown.

His PFF grade was 53.4, which isn’t great, but he did grade out decently in blocking categories. His Pass Blocking grade was 67.9, and his Run Blocking grade was 63.2.

Hardy picked up offers from NC State, Auburn, Illinois, Mississippi St., Houston, Memphis, Oklahoma St. and Cincinnati after entering the Transfer Portal.

He has 1 year of eligibility remaining.

Hardy is a North Carolina native, playing for Parkwood High School in Monroe.
