Former Alabama Linebacker Sterling Dixon Signs his NLI to Play for NC State

Today is National Signing Day for the 2025 Football Recruiting Class. Back on December 6th, NC State signed 17 players on the Early National Signing Day.

Former Alabama Linebacker Sterling Dixon (6’3″/211) signed his National Letter of Intent to play football for NC State today. He announced he was transferring to run with the Wolfpack on January 10th while on an Official Visit in Raleigh. NC State offered on January 7th.


Dixon was a 3-star prospect in the Transfer Portal this offseason, with ON3 ranking him as the #31 Linebacker.

Dixon also took an Official Visit to UNC.

News broke of Dixon entering the Transfer Portal on January 4th.

Dixon played in only 3 games for the Crimson Tide this season as a True Freshman, allowing him to Redshirt. He has 4 years of eligibility.

Coming out of Spanish Fort High School in Mobile, Alabama, Rivals ranked him as the #169 overall player nationally, the #6 Linebacker and the #10 player in the state of Alabama.
