NC State WBB heading to Mexico next season for the Cancun Challenge

The NC State Women’s Basketball Team will be heading to Mexico over Thanksgiving break next season, as they’ve accepted an invitation to the Cancun Challenge. The games will be held from Nov 27-29th at the Hard Rock Hotel Riveiera Maya.

Other teams that will be playing in their bracket are Purdue, San Francisco, TCU and UAB. In the other bracket will be Kansas State and South Dakota State (plus two more teams added later). TCU is currently ranked 9th in the AP Poll, and Kansas State is ranked 12th.

This marks NC State’s third tournament appearance in Cancun. They last played in the Cancun Challenge in 2018, beating Michigan State (78-74) and George Washington (69-61). In their first appearance in 2015, they lost to Seton Hall 55-58, and defeated UAB 67-56.
