#23 NC State (6-5) run-ruled Canisius (0-6) this afternoon, defeating the Golden Griffins 10-0 in the 7th and securing the sweep. The Wolfpack has swept both weekend series to start the 2025 season.

Sophomore Ryan Marohn pitched the best game of his career, notching a complete game shutout on 100 pitches, striking out 11 batters over 7 scoreless innings—both career highs. Marohn is now 2-1 for the year, with a 2.65 ERA.

Senior shortstop Justin DeCriscio, sophomore catcher Alex Sosa, and junior left fielder Josh Hogue all had 2 hits and 2 RBIs today. Hogue, needing a day like today after going 1 for his last 13, had a double, a single, a walk, and scored 2 runs. DeCriscio hit a home run, scored a run, and was hit by a pitch. Sosa walked and scored a run.

The only other player besides Hogue and DeCriscio to have an extra-base hit was sophomore third baseman Ryan Jaros, who was 1 for 3 with an RBI double.

The Wolfpack played a clean game on defense, not committing an error for only the second game this season.

NC State’s next game will be a midweek match on the road against UNC-Greensboro on Tuesday at 4 PM on ESPN+.
