NC State expected Boston transfer Caitlin Weimar to be the starting center this season, but she was unable to play in any games due to requiring surgery. Sophomore Mallory Collier initially served as the starting center, but Trygger took over in the Clemson game and has been the team’s starting center for the last 17 games.

Since joining the starting lineup, Trygger has averaged 8.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks per game. In the 17 games she has started, Trygger has recorded seven double-digit scoring performances, four double-digit rebound performances, and three double-doubles. On two occasions, she scored 19 points and pulled down 10 rebounds each in games against Cal and Notre Dame. Trygger set a career-high with 14 rebounds in a game against FSU.

NC State has had a representative on the ACC All-Freshman team in 3 of the last four years (2024 – Zoe Brooks & 2022 – Aziaha James).
