NC State Wins 6th Straight, Defeating Wright St. 6-4

NC State won its sixth straight baseball game yesterday, defeating Wright State 6-4 at home in Game 1 of a three-game series.

Junior Dominic Fritton was electric, notching his second consecutive quality start with 10+ strikeouts. He allowed only one earned run in 6.2 innings, striking out 10 on 103 pitches. This marked the third 10+ strikeout performance of his career and his fourth quality start. Fritton picked up the win and now holds a 2-1 record with a 1.25 ERA.

The Wolfpack bats have been on fire lately, and yesterday was no exception, as they tallied 10 hits. NC State has recorded 10+ hits in three consecutive games and five of the last six.

Junior outfielder Josh Hogue continued his hot streak, going 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a double.

Sophomore second baseman Luke Nixon went 2-for-5 with a double and a triple.

Sophomore Jacob Dudan delivered his second consecutive scoreless outing, pitching two shutout innings with four strikeouts. He earned his first save of the season and now has a 7.04 ERA.
