There were reports that after meeting with NC State Athletic Director Boo Corrigan in Louisiana on Thursday, McNeese State Head Coach Will Wade was expected to be in Raleigh for a meeting either last night or tonight.

We do know this: Will Wade was in Louisiana this morning, conducting an interview with KPLC 7 Sports Director Matthew Travis. In the interview, Wade explained that the past few days had been “hectic.” He stated that he had to “handle some business” on Thursday, but yesterday he was back at it, attending the high school state championship game, getting work done in the office, and going to dinner with his family.

I cannot confirm or deny if Wade hopped on a plane for a quick trip this afternoon or evening.

On Wednesday, Wade appeared on “The Field of 68: After Dark” with Jeff Goodman, and I think some of what he had to say is worth noting. You can read the quote below and watch the video in full underneath.

“If I leave here, it’s going to be for somewhere I feel like we can win the National Championship, or compete for a National Championship. If I don’t think the resources are there to compete for a National Championship, resources meaning…staff, NIL, you know, all the stuff that goes with it. My family has moved a ton. My daughter has moved a ton. She’s in 2nd grade. The next place that we go, I want to be there for awhile. I want to put down some roots, and be there for an extended period of time.”
