VIDEO: A deep dive into what to expect from a Will Wade offesne (via Trinity Road Times)

If you haven’t checked out Trinity Road Times, I’d advise you to. They haven’t been around all that long, but their bread and butter is breaking down video and and looking at offensive and defensive set. They do a good job in explaining it for those of you who haven’t played basketball or aren’t really into the Xs and Os of the game.

The takeaway for me is that Wade and Keatts do some things similar, but Wade’s version is more complex, better executed and always more creative. If you watched McNeese State defeat Clemson yesterday then you saw that Wade loves to create confusion and use the element of surprise to throw his opponents out of rhythm.

This video shows how Wade’s teams attack ball screens and how they screen to get shooters open. I know NC State tried to do this from time to time with the previous staff, but the execution of the Xs and Os was really never there during Keatts tenure. I think with Wade you see his guys always doing the little things and I think it’s because he really makes that a point of emphasis in his coaching.
