It’s official!

NC State has signed Will Wade to a 6-year contract to be their Men’s Basketball Coach!

The details of the contract aren’t public yet.

Will Wade has won at every stop along the way. He just wrapped up his 11th season as a Head Basketball Coach, leading McNeese St. to back-to-back Southland Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships, back-to-back Southland Coach of the Year honors, back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances, and the first NCAA Tournament victory in school history. In two seasons with the Cowboys, Wade’s record was 50-9 (84.7%).

Prior to his most recent stop in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Wade was the Head Coach at LSU for five seasons, where he led the Tigers to a 105-51 record (67.3%), winning the SEC Regular Season Title in 2019. Wade led LSU to the NCAA Tournament in three out of five seasons, and it would have been four out of five if the Big Dance had not been canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19.

Wade’s two-year stint as the Head Coach at VCU was what propelled him to a job in the SEC. The Rams were 51-20 (71.8%) under Wade, winning the Atlantic 10 Regular Season title in 2016 and advancing to the NCAA Tournament in both seasons.

In 2013, Wade got his first head coaching opportunity with Chattanooga, where he led the Mocs to a 61.5% winning percentage.

In 11 seasons, Wade boasts a 69.9% winning percentage.

At only 42 years old, Wade has a bright future ahead of him, which means the forecast is sunny in Raleigh for the foreseeable future.

Wade was the Wolfpack’s number one choice, and they got what they wanted. You can stop sweating bullets, NC State fans.

Will Wade is coming to town.
