With six NC State players already entering the Transfer Portal since it opened on Monday, the commitment of NC State’s two-man 2025 high school recruiting class—consisting of 4-star forward Zymicah Wilkins and 4-star guard RJ Greer—was uncertain.

To be honest, securing the commitment of Wilkins was likely a top priority for Coach Wade, and it appears it didn’t take much convincing, which is great news for NC State.

ESPN ranks Wilkins as the #56 overall player nationally in the 2025 recruiting class, the #7 power forward, and the #2 player in North Carolina.

Last month, Wilkins led Christ School (26-2) to their third consecutive NCISAA 4A state title by defeating Carmel Christian School (18-9) 73-50. Over the season, Wilkins averaged 15.6 points and 8 rebounds per game.

Earlier this month, Wilkins was named Mr. Basketball in North Carolina.
