NC State has reached out to Tennessee Tech forward Rodney Johnson Jr. (6’5″/220).

Johnson Jr. has spent the past two seasons playing for the Golden Eagles. This season, he ranked second on the team in points and rebounds, averaging 13 points and 5.8 rebounds, and shooting an exceptional 51% from the field and 40.2% from three. In the 2023-24 season, Johnson Jr. averaged 10.7 points and 5.1 rebounds.

Prior to his time at Tennessee Tech, Johnson Jr. played his first two collegiate seasons in the JUCO ranks. As a sophomore, he averaged 14.3 points and 8.3 rebounds at Weatherford College. As a freshman, he averaged 8.7 points and 5.7 rebounds at Panola College.

Due to an ongoing lawsuit against the NCAA, all former Junior College players whose eligibility ran out this athletic year have been granted an extra year of eligibility next year. As a result, Rodney Johnson Jr. has one year of eligibility remaining.
