NC State has picked up its first commitment under Head Coach Will Wade. McNeese St. Senior Guard Alyn Breed (6’3”/190) entered the Transfer Portal today with a ‘Do Not Contact’ tag, likely because he already plans to join his former coach in Raleigh.

Breed announced today his decision to transfer to NC State.

This past season, Breed started strong, averaging 17.5 points in his first two games with the Cowboys, after playing his first three years at Providence.

To be honest, it’s hard to predict what the Wolfpack are getting in Breed. He only played in 2 games for McNeese this season before suffering a season-ending injury. Before moving to Lake Charles, Breed averaged 16.6 minutes per game over three years at Providence, starting in only 30 of 88 games.

During his time with the Friars, Breed averaged 4.3 points per game, shooting only 36.7% from the field.

Technically, Breed has only one year of eligibility remaining. However, considering he only played in two games this year, he might apply for a medical hardship waiver to gain an additional year.
