As expected, McNeese St. Guard Quadir Copeland (6’6”/200) entered the Transfer Portal today.

New NC State Head Coach Will Wade said in his introductory meetings with the media that he has found a way to win with both short and tall point guards.

This season, Copeland was one of the tall point guards with whom Wade has had success. Copeland averaged 9.2 points, 4.5 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.4 steals in his one year with the Cowboys. His 147 assists were the ninth-most in McNeese St. history for a single season. Copeland earned All-Southland Conference 2nd Team honors and earned a spot on the All-Southland Tournament Team.

Prior to heading to Lake Charles, Copeland played his first two seasons at Syracuse. Even though he never carved out a starting role, he was a significant contributor off the bench in his second year, averaging 9.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.5 steals.

Currently, Copeland is ranked as the #167 overall prospect in the Transfer Portal according to ON3, and the #40 point guard.

Copeland has one year of eligibility remaining.

Don’t be shocked to see Copeland follow Wade to Raleigh.
