James, Rivers & Brooks Earn WBCA All-American Honorable Mention

NC State’s outstanding guard trio of Aziaha James, Saniya Rivers and Zoe Brooks have earned All-American Honorable Mention honors from the WBCA (Women’s Basketball Coaches Association).

James, Rivers and Brooks have joined a select group of 8 NC State players to earn WBCA All-American honors.

Brooks averaged 14.2 points per game on 46.2 percent shooting, the second highest average on the team, with 4.7 rebounds per game, 3.7 assists per game and 1.3 steals per game. She had 28 double-figure scoring games and four 20-point performances. Brooks logged a career-high 33 points with 14-of-14 shooting from the free throw line with 10 rebounds in the Pack’s win over No. 10/10 Notre Dame. She led the team in assists in 16 games and had two double-doubles on the season.

James led the Pack in scoring for the second straight year, registering 17.9 points per game on 44.5 percent shooting from the field, 33.3 percent from the 3-point line and 75.0 percent from the free throw line. She also logged 4.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game. The Virginia Beach native registered double digits in scoring in all but one of the 35 games with 14 20-point contests. She logged a career-high 36 points on 15-of-19 shooting in the Pack’s win over No. 10/10 Duke.

Rivers had another all-around performance this season, logging 11.9 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game along with a team-leading 1.6 steals and 1.3 blocks per game. She had 22 double-digit scoring games, nine double-digit rebounding games and a team-high nine double-doubles. Rivers logged a near triple-double in four different games later in the conference season, highlighted by 14 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists against No. 1/1 Notre Dame.
