NC State is meeting with Jacksonville State Transfer Guard Jaron Pierre Jr. (6’6″/188) and his agent, and apparently, there is mutual interest.

Pierre Jr. has been in the college game for a minute now. In his lone season at Jacksonville St. this year, Pierre Jr. went ham, averaging 21.6 points (led the CUSA), 5.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists, shooting 38.2% from three.

Pierre Jr. spent his first two years at Southern Miss (1st year didn’t count towards eligibility due to the Covid-19 year), starting in 31 of 51 games. He averaged 9.4 points and 3.3 rebounds as a member of the Golden Eagles.

He took things up a notch in his third year at Wichita St., averaging double digits (10.6 points) for the first time in his career, starting in 22 of 31 games. In 2023-24, Pierre Jr. redshirted his 2nd year with the Shockers.

Pierre Jr.’s outburst this season is the reason he’s the #32 overall player in the Transfer Portal right now, and the #7 Shooting Guard. He earned a spot on the All-CUSA 1st Team and was named the conference player of the year.

He has 1 year of eligibility remaining.
