Miami transfer guard Jalil Bethea (6’5″/190) has planned visits to NC State and Alabama when the dead period ends (April 3-10), according to Jon Rothstein.

During the dead period, prospects and coaches are not allowed to have in-person meetings, which prohibits official or unofficial visits to schools, or face-to-face meetings off campus. With that being said, coaches and players are still allowed to communicate via phone, email, social media, and other digital communication channels.

Back on March 29th, it was reported that NC State was in Bethea’s Top-4, along with Alabama, Kansas State, and Miami.

News broke that Bethea was planning on entering the transfer portal on March 21st.

Bethea just wrapped up his freshman year with the Hurricanes, averaging 7.1 points per game. He played in 31 games, starting 16, and averaged 18.9 minutes per game.

Bethea was a consensus 5-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class, earning a spot on the McDonald’s All-American team. ESPN and 247Sports both ranked him as the #7 overall player nationally, the #3 shooting guard, and the #1 player in the state of Pennsylvania.

247Sports currently ranks Bethea as the #16 overall player in the transfer portal and the #5 shooting guard, while ON3 ranks him as the #30 overall player and #6 shooting guard.

He has 3 years of eligibility remaining.
