NC State is Ranked 14th in the Initial 2024-25 Directors’ Cup Winter Standings

The initial Winter Directors’ Cup standings are out, and NC State is sitting in 14th place. Back in January, the Wolfpack was ranked 23rd in the final Fall standings.

The final Winter standings will be released after the conclusion of women’s bowling, men’s hockey, men’s gymnastics, and women’s gymnastics—with only the latter being relevant to NC State.

The Wolfpack women’s basketball team finished 9th in the final AP Poll, contributing 64 points. They won the ACC Regular Season Championship, advanced to the ACC Tournament Championship game, and reached the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament.

The women’s swimming & diving team finished 10th at the NCAA Championships, contributing 67.5 points, while the men added 69 points by finishing 9th.

The women’s indoor track & field team finished 23rd at the NCAA Championships, adding 49.5 points to the team total.

The Wolfpack men’s wrestling team finished 8th at the NCAA Championships, contributing 70.5 points.

NC State currently ranks 5th among ACC schools in the Winter Directors’ Cup standings.

Last season the Wolfpack finished 21st in the Final 2023-24 Directors’ Cup Standings, having finished in the Top-25 for four consecutive years. Prior to this streak, NC State had never achieved consecutive top-25 finishes.

Since the inception of the Directors’ Cup, NC State has only finished in the Top-25 five times, all occurring in the last six years:
