NC State’s pitchers couldn’t stop Louisville’s batters from hitting the baseball this afternoon in Game 2 of the weekend series in Raleigh, with the Cardinals crushing the Wolfpack 25-8.

Louisville racked up 22 hits against NC State today, which is the most the Pack has allowed in 2025—by six hits—surpassing the 16 hits the Hokies racked up on March 15th.

The Cardinals’ six home runs led to 15 of their 25 runs.

Sophomore Heath Andrews, the Wolfpack’s Saturday starter, surrendered seven earned runs in three innings of work, increasing his ERA on the year from 3.95 to 5.11 in one outing.

Sophomore Cooper Consiglio was up next, and he matched Andrews, giving up eight runs (seven earned) as well, but he only lasted 1.2 innings.

Sophomore Jaxon Lucas was the last Wolfpack pitcher out of the pen, and he matched Andrews and Consiglio, giving up seven earned runs of his own in two innings.

To NC State’s credit, their offense did produce eight runs on nine hits.

Junior Right Fielder Brayden Fraasman was 2-for-3 with three RBI, one home run, two runs, and one walk. Fraasman’s seven home runs are tied for the team lead with Josh Hogue.

Sophomore Trenton Lyons served as the Wolfpack’s designated hitter today, going 2-for-2 with two RBI, a run, a double, and two walks.

Sophomore Third Baseman Ryan Jaros entered the game as a pinch hitter, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, a run, and a home run.

Sophomore Second Baseman Luke Nixon also went 2-for-3 with a run.

The Wolfpack and the Cardinals will play the rubber match tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Doak Field.
