Indiana Transfer Forward Mackenzie Mgbako (6’8″/210) began an official visit to NC State yesterday.

It looks like NC State has surged past Kentucky and is now the team to beat. Analysts at 247Sports and ON3 both put in predictions last night that Mgbako will choose to run with the Wolfpack.

Mgbako just wrapped up his sophomore season at Indiana, averaging 12.2 points and 4.6 rebounds while shooting 43.7% from the field and 32.9% from three. He has been a two-year starter for the Hoosiers, averaging 12.2 points and 4.1 rebounds as a freshman.

ON3 and 247Sports both rank Mgbako as a 4-star prospect in the transfer portal. ON3 ranks him as the No. 62 overall player and the No. 11 small forward, while 247Sports ranks him No. 56 overall and the No. 10 power forward.

Coming out of high school, Mgbako was a 5-Star player out of Rose Catholic in New Jersey, ranking 8th nationally in the 2023 class by the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Mgbako has 2 years of eligibility remaining.
