NC State has been in communication with LSU Transfer Guard Tyrell Ward (6’6″/195), according to Rivals.

Ward didn’t play this past season, sitting out for mental health reasons.

In his sophomore season with the Tigers, he averaged 9.1 points while shooting 43.8% from the field and 41.3% from three in 21.7 minutes per game (10 starts). He saw quite a jump in production, after averaging 3.7 points in 14.3 minutes per game in Year 1.

Currently, ON3 ranks Ward as the #250 overall player in the portal and the #67 shooting guard.

Coming out of DeMatha High School (Hyattsville, Maryland), Ward was rated as a 5-star prospect by ON3 and Rivals, with the former ranking him as the #20 overall player nationally in the 2022 recruiting class.

Ward has two years of eligibility remaining.
