According to Cory Smith at PackPride, NC State has “emerged as a contender for Alabama Transfer Forward Derrion Reid (6’8″/220).”

Reid didn’t get a ton of run as a Freshman this year, averaging 6 points and 2.8 boards in 24 games (3 starts), averaging only 14 minutes per game. He was a 5-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class, with the 247Sports Composite ranking him as the #10 overall player nationally, the #2 Power Forward and the #1 player in the state of Georgia.

Before Reid ever entered the Portal, the Georgia Twitterverse was buzzing with the possibility of the Peach State standout transferring back home. After he entered, the Bulldog fanbase thought Reid was a lock to end up in Athens. With that being said, after BYU’s Kanon Catchings committed to Georgia on Sunday, the buzz quieted down.

24Sports currently ranks Reid as the #28 overall player in the Transfer Portal, and the #5 Small Forward.
