Alabama Forward Transfer Derrion Reid is Taking his 1st Official Visit to NC State

According to Travis Branham of 247Sports, Alabama Forward Transfer Derrion Reid (6’8″/220) will be taking his 1st Official Visit to NC State on Monday, April 21st.

Reid entered the Transfer Portal with a “Do Not Contact” tag, meaning schools are to wait for him to express interest in them. With that being the case, the fact that Reid is scheduling his first visit after entering the Transfer Portal on April 12th to NC State is massive.

Reid didn’t get a ton of run as a Freshman this year, averaging 6 points and 2.8 boards in 24 games (3 starts), averaging only 14 minutes per game. He was a 5-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class, with the 247Sports Composite ranking him as the #10 overall player nationally, the #2 Power Forward and the #1 player in the state of Georgia.

24Sports currently ranks Reid as a 4-star Portal Prospect, the #28 overall player in the Transfer Portal and the #5 Small Forward.
