McNeese St. Transfer Guard Alyn Breed (6’3″/190) has signed the dotted line to play basketball for NC State next season.

“I’m excited to have Alyn join us at NC State. Obviously, he is a player I’m very familiar with. He has the ability to be a really good two-way player for us. He started his career at Providence more of a defensive-minded player, but to his credit he put in work on his offensive game and has become a threat on that end of the court. He can shoot it well and score on all three levels while also being a capable ball-handler for us.” (GP)

On April 2nd, news broke that Breed was transferring from McNeese St. to run with the Wolfpack, reuniting with his McNeese St. Head Coach Will Wade. Breed took his Official Visit to Raleigh last Wednesday.

This past season, Breed started strong, averaging 17.5 points in his first two games with the Cowboys, after playing his first three years at Providence.

To be honest, it’s hard to predict what the Wolfpack are getting in Breed. He only played in 2 games for McNeese this season before suffering a season-ending injury. Before moving to Lake Charles, Breed averaged 16.6 minutes per game over three years at Providence, starting in only 30 of 88 games.

During his time with the Friars, Breed averaged 4.3 points per game, shooting only 36.7% from the field.

Breed sat out the 2023-24 season at McNeese St. due to Transfer Rules.

ON3 and 247Sports both rank Breed as a 4-Star Transfer Prospect, with the latter ranking him as the #240 overall player in the Portal and #64 Shooting Guard.

Breed has 1 year of eligibility remaining.
