REPORT: NC State is 1 of 2 Frontrunners for Memphis All-American Transfer Guard PJ Haggerty

According to Jeff Goodman, NC State and Ole Miss are the 2 frontrunners for Memphis All-American Transfer Guard PJ Haggerty (6’3″/191).

According to Goodman, the $4 million asking price for Haggerty has come down since that was first reported.

Haggerty entered the Portal back on April 17th.

This past season, Haggerty earned Consensus 2nd Team All-American honors, averaging 21.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.8 steals for the Tigers. Haggerty was named the 2025 AAC Player of the Year. In his third year of college ball, Haggerty improved his outside shot, making 36.4% from three.

The year before, he averaged 21.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.9 steals with Tulsa, earning 3rd Team All-AAC honors.

Haggerty redshirted his first collegiate season at TCU.

247Sports ranks him as a 5-Star Transfer Portal prospect, the #2 overall player to enter the Portal and the #1 Point Guard. Haggerty is the highest ranked player currently in the Portal according to 247Sports’ rankings. ON3 ranks him as the #8 overall player to enter the Transfer Portal, and the #2 Shooting Guard.

Haggerty has 1 year of eligibility remaining.
