NC State has waited all year for the return of Junior Pitcher Shane Van Dam, who suffered a season-ending UCL injury last year in the FSU series.

He will make his 2025 debut tomorrow night, making his first career start for the Wolfpack at UNCW.

Van Dam transferred to NC State prior to last season from SUNY Cortland (Division III) and made an immediate impact. He finished his first season in Raleigh with a 4.58 ERA in 16 appearances out of the bullpen. Van Dam’s record was 4-0, and he held opponents to a .216 batting average, which ranked fourth on the team.

Sophomore Cooper Consiglio has started for the Wolfpack in their last three midweek games. In those games, he has given up eight earned runs in seven innings. Including his appearances in non-midweek games, Consiglio has allowed 12 earned runs in seven innings.

NC State was ranked 22nd in the RPI last week at this time, and now they find themselves sitting at 36th. The Wolfpack can’t afford to lose their last midweek game against the Seahawks tomorrow.
