Wake Forest transfer linebacker Bailey Benson (6’1″/195) confirmed that he just wrapped up an official visit to NC State, which began yesterday.

Benson was a 3-star prospect in the Demon Deacons’ 2025 recruiting class out of Eastside High School in Covington, Georgia. He enrolled early in January but decided to enter the transfer portal after spring practice concluded. This means that Benson still has four years of eligibility remaining, with his redshirt season still intact.

ON3 ranks Benson as a 3-star transfer prospect and the #193 linebacker to enter the portal this offseason.

Coming out of high school, ESPN ranked him as the #79 outside linebacker nationally in the 2025 recruiting class, and 247Sports ranked him as the #104 overall player in the state of Georgia.

As a senior at Eastside this past fall, Benson recorded 73 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery.

NC State recruited Benson out of high school, offering him on September 24th last Fall.
