The Las Vegas Raiders have signed former NC State punter AJ Cole to a 4-year extension worth $15.8 million, with $11 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid punter in the NFL.

After going undrafted in 2019, the Raiders signed Cole as an undrafted free agent, and he has been their starter ever since.

In the final year of his 3-year rookie contract (worth $1.757 million), Las Vegas signed Cole to a new 4-year deal worth $12 million in December 2021.

Cole was heading into the final year of that contract in 2025, set to earn $3.733 million next season.

That means Cole is now under contract with Las Vegas for the next five years for a total of $19.53 million.

Cole has been named to the Pro Bowl three times (2021–2023) and has earned First-Team All-Pro honors twice (2021 and 2023).

Last season, Cole’s average of 50.8 yards per punt ranked second in the NFL.

Cole’s 9,288 career punting yards at NC State rank second in school history, and his career average of 42.2 ranks fifth.
