The NCAA is introducing the Coach’s Challenge in Men’s Basketball next season.

Each coach will be granted one challenge per game. They will be able to challenge out-of-bounds calls, basket interference/goaltending, and whether a secondary defender was in the restricted-area arc.

In order to use a challenge, a coach must have at least one timeout remaining.

If the challenge is successful, the team will be granted another challenge, which can be used at any point for the remainder of the game, including overtime.

If the challenge is unsuccessful, the team will lose a timeout and will not be allowed to challenge another call for the rest of the game.

Referees will still be allowed to use video review for basket interference/goaltending and restricted arc plays in the final two minutes of regulation and during overtime. However, out-of-bounds plays will not be reviewable unless a coach uses a challenge.

What are your thoughts on this change? Are you for it or against it? How do you think it will impact the flow of the game?
