NC State’s Jacob Dudan & Ryan Marohn Make the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team

After joining 56 collegiate baseball players for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp, NC State junior pitchers Jacob Dudan and Ryan Marohn were two of the 26 players who made the official roster announced yesterday.

The USA Baseball Collegiate National Team will now head to Japan for the 45th USA vs. Japan Collegiate All-Star Championship Series. The two teams will play five games from July 8–13.

In Training Camp, Dudan made two appearances, giving up 0 earned runs in 2.0 innings pitched, with two strikeouts and one hit allowed. Marohn made one appearance, pitching three shutout innings with two strikeouts and one hit allowed.

Sophomore Anderson Nance also participated in Training Camp but didn’t make the 26-man roster. Nance made two appearances, allowing seven earned runs in 2.0 innings pitched, with one strikeout and eight hits allowed.

Starting pitcher Ryan Marohn just wrapped up his sophomore season and tied for the team lead in wins with an 8-3 record. His 3.38 ERA led all starters and ranked second on the team overall. Marohn ranked tied for 6th in the ACC in wins, 4th in ERA, 6th in innings pitched, 7th in strikeouts, and 10th in strikeout percentage (K%).

Relief pitcher Jacob Dudan finished his sophomore season with a 2-2 record and a 3.90 ERA. His five saves ranked second on the team. Dudan struck out 41 batters in 30 innings.

Relief pitcher Anderson Nance finished his first collegiate season with an 8-2 record and a 3.50 ERA, recording 53 strikeouts in 54 innings. His eight wins tied for the team lead. Among pitchers with 14 or more appearances, Nance ranked third on the team in WHIP (1.19) and ERA. He recently earned Second Team Freshman All-American honors from the NCBWA.
