In his press conference last week, NC State Head Coach Will Wade took a moment to honor former Head Coach Kevin Keatts. Wade wanted to make it clear that Keatts did a good job in Raleigh, and he doesn’t get the credit he deserves for his body of work. You can read the transcript below, and watch the video above.

I want to say this.

Coach Keatts did a good job here, now. The more I’m here…He did a good job. I know it didn’t end how he wanted it to end, but there’ll be a bunch of high major schools that want to hire him again, and he did a much better job than he’s given credit for.

He took this program to the Final Four, took this program to the NCAA Tournament about half of his years, if you count the COVID year. That ain’t bad with some of the resources, and some of what he had. He did a damn good job, and he doesn’t get the credit that he deserves.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t say that, but he did a damn good job, and our fans should be appreciative of him, and our folks should be appreciative of him, and he’ll land back on his feet and he’s going to win.
