The Seattle Seahawks have signed former NC State safety Devan Boykin as a running back, following the move of running back Kenny McIntosh to injured reserve.

McIntosh also served as a kickoff returner for Seattle, a role the Seahawks likely envision for Kaufman given his similar skillset.

Kaufman averaged 31.3 yards per kickoff return last season for the Wolfpack, totaling 469 return yards and leading the ACC in both categories.

Last season was Kaufman’s only year with NC State, after spending the previous three seasons with the Auburn Tigers. He originally signed with Vanderbilt out of high school and appeared in two games during his true freshman season.

In 2024, Kaufman recorded 74 tackles, which ranked second on the team.
