NC State Freshman Guard Matthew Able was cooking recently at the Olin Simplis Run.

Olin Simplis is known as “The Guard Whisperer,” a renowned NBA and WNBA player development trainer. These ‘Runs’ can feature high school, college, and foreign professional players looking to make it to the NBA.

Able is projected as a 1st Round pick in numerous 2026 NBA Mock Drafts.

He verbally committed to run with the Wolfpack on April 5th.

Able originally signed his National Letter of Intent to play for Miami back in November. Jim Larranaga stepped down as the Head Coach of the Hurricanes in December, and Able decommitted on February 28th. Miami gave him his release on February 21st.

The Florida High School standout took Official Visits to Tennessee, Alabama, Baylor, Stanford and NC State.

Able was a 5-star prospect according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings. Rivals raned him as the #19 overall player nationally in the 2025 recruiting class, the #6 Shooting Guard and the #3 player in the state of Florida.

In his final season of high school ball, Able averaged 20.4 points and 5.9 rebounds for Sagemont Prep in Tampa, shooting 40% from three.
