International SG Jayme Kontuniemi Has Finally Arrived at NC State

Earlier this week, International 2025 Prep Shooting Guard Jayme Kontuniemi (6’4″) finally arrived at NC State!

After picking up an offer from the Wolfpack on April 30th, Kontuniemi verbally committed on May 23rd.

Kontuniemi played for Drive Academy in Finland.

Wade on Kontuniemi: “Jayme has a lot of untapped potential that we’re eager to develop. He’s a hard worker, a true competitor, and most importantly, he’s got a desire to win. He’s excited and grateful for the opportunity, and we’re just as excited to welcome him into our program.” (GP)

Prior to NC State: Played the 2024-25 season for Drive Academy Espoo U20 in the European Youth Basketball League U20 … Helped lead team to 12-0 record and EYBL U20 Championship …. Played for Drive Basketball Espoo U20 team in 2023-24 season … Averaged 6.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game … Also played for Drive Basketball Academy Black team in U19 league in 2023-24 … Led team to Finnish U19 Regular Season and League Championship … Played for Omnia Espoo BA U20 team in Sweden-EYBL and Pantterit Helsinki in Finland-1st Division in 2022-23 season … Helped lead Omnia to EYBL U20 North Finalist finish … Was a member of the Finnish U18 National Team in 2023.
