ON3 released their 2025 Preseason True Freshman All-American Team this morning, and NC State Center Spike Sowells Jr. (6’2″/312) made the squad.

Here’s what they had to say about Sowells:

Isaac Sowells was a huge rankings riser towards the end of the 2025 cycle and looked like one of the nation’s top true center prospects. An NFL legacy with plus length, outstanding play strength, and loose movement skills, Sowells was dominant against top competition at the Navy All-American Bowl before enrolling at NC State. Given that context, we aren’t surprised to hear Sowells is pushing for a starting spot in Raleigh. (ON3)

ON3 rated Sowells Jr. as a 4-Star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class, and ranked him as the #163 overall player nationally, the #8 Interior Offensive Lineman and the #3 player in the state of Kentucky.

247Sports was even more bullish on Sowells Jr., ranking him as the #103 overall player nationally in the 2025 recruiting class, the #4 Interior Offensive Lineman and the #1 player in the state of Kentucky.

Sowells Jr. verbally committed to run with the Wolfpack on July 18th of last year, choosing NC State over a Top-3 that also included Kentucky and South Carolina.

Redshirt Senior Jalen Grant, who transferred in from Purdue this past offseason, was lined up with the 1’s at Center on the first day of Fall Camp, but there is legitimate buzz that Sowells Jr. is pushing him for the starting job.
