CBS Sports Names NC State’s Dave Doeren the Week 2 ACC Coach of the Week

Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports named NC State’s Dave Doeren the Week 2 ACC Head Coach of the Week, after leading the Wolfpack to a come-from-behind victory over UVA this past Saturday.

NC State trailed by 10-points at halftime, but outscored the Cavaliers 21-7 in the 2nd half.

After allowing Virginia to convert 10 of 13 third down opportunities in the first half, the Wolfpack adjusted after the half, allowing the Cavaliers to convert 50% in the 2nd half.

Virginia scored on 3 of their 5 red zone opportunities, scoring 2 touchdowns and 1 field goal. In the 2nd half, the Cavaliers failed to put points on the board in both of their trips to the red zone, failing to convert on a 4th down, and throwing an interception.

NC State converted both times they went for it on 4th down, while stopping UVA on 2 of their 3 attempts.

Doeren is now 4-0 against UVA since becoming the Wolfpack Head Coach in 2013.

NC State was favored to win the game by 3-points, and managed to cover the spread by 1-point.

The Wolfpack have now won back-to-back one-possession games to start the 2025 season.
