Guard Tre Holloman met with the media on Monday prior to NC State’s first 2025-26 Men’s Basketball practice. You can watch the video above, and read the transcript below.

What sold you on this program that made you want to come to NC State before any of the other parts of the roster were put together?

Coach said he needed a point guard, and he just kept it real with me.

He was honest. He never stopped calling me, texting me. The relationship we built was good, so I felt like this was the best spot for my future.

Coach talks about how people like you and Q (Quadir Copeland) play with edge. What type of edge do you bring to NC State?

You know, like a pit bull, man. They’re kind of feisty. They don’t want to lose. So, I feel like we bring that to the court. When we get out there playing together, I feel like we’re going to be unstoppable, for real.

No ordinary offseason, you guys have been doing all kinds of stuff, from practices to the Navy SEAL stuff. That’s a crazy offseason right there.

I feel like that stuff was just team stuff. Just to build our character, to be stronger as a unit, because we are all new. We bonded like brothers.

Have you ever done anything like that Navy SEAL training?

No, never.

Is that something you’re going to look back on for the rest of your life and see that as a formative experience?

For sure, man. I’m gonna tell my kids about it, my grandkids about it. Yeah, Coach is way crazy.

You want to do it again?

I mean, I wouldn’t mind, man. We were having fun.

How much does it mean to you that Coach actually gets out there and does it with you?

Man, that’s just so cool because other coaches, they wouldn’t get out there with you, especially the head coach. That was cool.

How is Coach Wade’s recruiting pitch different?

I feel like he’s just real genuine and honest. He doesn’t tell lies. He doesn’t want to make you feel good. He tells you the truth, and then you’ve just got to go with whatever you feel like.
