Forward/Center Musa Sagnia met with the media last Monday prior to NC State’s first 2025-26 Men’s Basketball practice. You can watch the video above, and read the transcript below.

What’s the craziest thing that you’ve done in the preseason so far?

I would say boot camp. It was crazy. A lot of sprints, but it was good. And I liked the Navy SEAL workouts. We had a lot of fun too. We did a lot of activities. It was really good. I’m glad we did that.

What’s maybe been the biggest adjustment outside of basketball?

School, because I got here pretty late, so I missed a lot of stuff, but now, with the help of the tutors, I’m caught up with everything.

Everybody talks about how much you smile, and Coach talks about how appreciative you are. How much do you appreciate this opportunity?

I really appreciate it, because before going to Spain, this has been my dream. Since when I was in the Gambia, I was watching college basketball, so being here is a dream come true. I really appreciate being here. Everybody is really, really nice here.

Being a fan of college basketball back in Gambia, what was your familiarity with NC State before you actually decided to come here?

I didn’t know much about NC State. I was watching college basketball, but I didn’t know much about NC State until recently.

So what was it about NC State that ultimately made y0u want to play for Will Wade?

The passion, the culture, the commitment. Everything. That’s the reason. The way they are, nice people.
